The Apostille and Signing Authority

Thank you for booking with Texas Notary & Apostille Group. A proper notarization protects the legal standing of your documents, so a few minutes of preparation matters. This page tells you exactly what to have ready so your appointment is smooth, valid, and complete.

Bring these to your appointment

  • Your document(s) — complete and unsigned. Do not sign or date until the notary directs you; signing in advance can void the notarization.
  • Valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID for every signer — Texas driver’s license, state ID, U.S. passport, or accepted equivalent. The name on the ID must match the document.
  • Any witnesses your document requires (see below), each with their own valid photo ID.

Identity & document verification

Identity and document verification is required before we notarize. After you book, a secure link follows with the steps to verify your identity and submit your document. For remote online sessions, you will also complete a brief identity quiz and need a smartphone or computer with a camera and microphone.

Witnesses — who qualifies

  • Wills and many estate or financial documents require at least two (2) witnesses. Check your document; it states its requirement.
  • Witnesses must be neutral — not related to you and with no vested interest in the document or transaction.
  • Each witness must present a valid photo ID and, for remote sessions, use their own device.
  • By law, your notary cannot serve as a witness.
  • No witnesses of your own? We can provide them for a fee — add our Witness Service when you book.

Time is set by your document

Each appointment is allotted time based on the document type. If your documents require more time, additional documents, or added information, the extra time is billed at $25 per 15 minutes, and we will tell you before any additional charge applies.

Payment, refunds & cancellations

Your fee reserves the notary’s time and travel and is earned on arrival. Reschedule at least 24 hours ahead for a credit toward a future appointment. Same-day cancellations, no-shows, and appointments that cannot be completed because documents, valid ID, or correct information are not provided are non-refundable. By booking, you agree to these terms.
